Haikus of the war

Start of the Great War,

Propaganda misleads youth,

Parents mourn for them.

Digging the trenches,

Digging pits for their coffins,

What is the difference?

The shells have just dropped,

Killing hundreds just like that,

The war still goes on.

The Germans captured,

Both sides of the war are done,

With the mass bloodshed.

The death and despair,

Consumes soldiers of the war,

Leaving them as husks.

Veterans live on,

Trapped in their mental prisons,

They’re not understood.
